Dr. Alex Kor is a podiatric physician from Terre Haute, Indiana. He is the son of two Holocaust survivors (Michael and Eva Mozes Kor).
He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago. Currently, he works at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Indiana, and serves as a clinical assistant at the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Aware of the importance of being the son of two Holocaust survivors, Alex feels a deep responsibility to share their story. Since 1985, he has visited the former Auschwitz camp more than 25 times, often accompanying his mother.
He serves on the Board of Directors of the CANDLES Holocaust Museum and Education Center. He also co-created an exhibition at the Indiana Historical Society in Indianapolis dedicated to his mother, titled “Eva Kor: From Auschwitz to Indiana.”
His latest book, co-authored with Graham Honaker, is titled “A Blessing, Not a Burden.” It tells the story of his parents’ lives and how their experiences and stories have positively influenced his own life.
