More than 120 senior law enforcement, justice, and public safety officials from Europe, North America, and Africa visited the Auschwitz Jewish Center Foundation in Oświęcim as part of an international program focused on combating antisemitism, hatred, and prejudice.
Participants took part in educational seminars and visited memorial sites in Oświęcim and Auschwitz. The program focused on the responsibility of today’s leaders to confront hate speech, dehumanization, and violence, as well as on the role of historical education in building societies resilient to prejudice and extremism.
“Our responsibility is to ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust are not confined to history, but actively shape how today’s leaders confront hatred and prejudice,” said AJCF Director-General Jack Simony.
The program also created an opportunity for international exchange among law enforcement representatives from different countries and for reflection on how history can help address contemporary forms of hatred and exclusion.
